SoundMagic releases TWS50 wireless budget Airpod

Apple AirPods are very popular, but they don’t offer the best battery life in the world – and they’re great for booting.

SoundMagic’s latest True Wireless earphones, the TWS50, could prove to be an attractive AirPods option with longer battery life and a cheaper price of $ 89.99 / £ 79.99 / $ 135 AU.

For comparison, Apple AirPods are priced at $ 159 / GBP 159 / AUD 249 with a standard charging case and $ 199 / GBP 199 / AUD 319 with a wireless charging case.

SoundMagic states that the new TW50 True Wireless earbuds do not have wireless charging and have better battery life than AirPods, which are available in a total of 30 hours – six hours of operation and around 24 hours. Do. charging case.

Don’t sweat it

They are also IPX7 waterproof – which means that they can process up to 30 meters underwater at depths of up to one meter. This is more to make your workouts sweat a little and possibly make them the ideal running headphones – if the fit is secure enough.

The support of the latest wireless standard Bluetooth 5.0 means that these buds should offer good connectivity as well as a “dual listening” mode. With this mode, the left and right earphones can be connected to different devices. Which may allow you to share your buds in a pinch of a friend.

With the touch-sensitive controls on the external housing of the SoundMagic TWS50, you can control music playback, answer and reject calls, and call up the voice assistant of your smartphone, regardless of whether you are using Siri or Google Assistant.

Each bud has a 6mm neodymium driver – slightly smaller than the 10mm drivers of the SoundMagic E11BT wireless headphones, which we rated 4.5 out of 5 stars for their impressive sound.

Hopefully, using smaller drivers will not adversely affect the sound quality of these earphones. However, if they’re nearly as good as their predecessors, they’re cheaper for AirPods and other more expensive digital virtual earphones. There may be cheaper alternatives.
