Call of Duty: Warzone Player Count Grows and Activision earns Revenue

This is the first updated player count we’ve heard since it exploded with 50 million players in the first month. Growth has been the slowest since its inception in the last few months, but this is not surprising in itself and another 25 million are still highly successful.

The success of Warzone also heavily influenced Modern Warfare. Activision Blizzard said Modern Warfare added more players than ever outside the launch quarter, mostly due to player upgrades from the warzone. The company has already specified that Warzone will continue to develop with content from future Call of Duty campaign releases. Even the excitement of the game may be indicative of what is to come from this year’s installment, and it will likely be new to the Black Ops series.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2020, Activision Blizzard reported a net profit of $ 1.4 billion to $ 1.93 billion for the same period last year. Digital revenue increased to $ 1.59 billion compared to $ 1.09 billion for the same period. The company’s earnings recently came under scrutiny in relation to both CEO Bobby Kotick’s salary and Blizzard employees’ recent salary-sharing campaign.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are currently preparing for the launch of season 5, which will include new maps, some major changes to the WordDesk Battle Royal map, and more. Fans are speculating that Warzone will be a sequel to a teaser or an announcement for the next Call of Duty, which is rumored to be a Black Ops game.
