It is rumored that the Oppo smartwatch works with an electrocardiogram (EKG) measurement technology. The smartwatch provides ECG monitoring similar to the Apple Watch.
Last month, Oppo announced the launch of the smartwatch at the Eno Day 2019 conference in Shenzhen. With these smart wireless headphones and customer-supplied 5G devices (CPE), this will be done in the first quarter of this year. Last year, Oppo’s vice president, Brian Shen, insulted Xiaomi’s Mi Watch for its design because it resembles the Apple Watch model.
On Weibo, a Chinese tipster announced that the Oppo smartwatch would be equipped with a function to measure EGC. He also mentions that the smartwatch will have a square design. The tipster did not provide any details about the introduction of the smartwatch. However, we can expect some details about the new smartwatch model that may be announced at MWC 2020 next month.
Oppo is not the only company; Many smartwatches come with ECG functions on the market. This trend was initiated by the Apple Watch Series 4, which has the function of ECG measurement. The three most popular smartwatch models with ECG support are Apple Watch Series 5, Amazfit Verge 2 and Samsung Galaxy Active 2.
Oppo can expand its market with EKG smartwatches. Vice President Shane suggested last year what advantages a rectangular dial has over a round dial. Shane also stated that a rectangular dial was better suited to display content on a circular dial.
