Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 Series, Galaxy Tab S7 Series, Galaxy Watch 3, and Galaxy Buds Live at the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this week. Around the same time, the company may also launch Galaxy Book Flex 5G in SDC (Samsung Developers Conference) 2020.
Premium Samsung Galaxy Book Flex
The original Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion debuted as the world’s first laptops with a QLED display in October 2019. Later, the company announced another model in the series called Galaxy Book Alpha (Alpha) at CES 2020.
Now, the South Korean tech giant is filing a trademark application (via LetsGoDigital) to the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for the “Samsung Book Flex 5G” trademark. This indicates that the company may release an updated, fifth-generation version of the Galaxy Book Flex on its first anniversary.
The trademark is filed on behalf of Samsung by a company named Abril Abogados. The company was responsible for the trademark registration of the Galaxy X1 series in July 2019.
Furthermore, although the brand does not include the word “Galaxy”, the product will actually be called “Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 5G”. For the unaware, some Galaxy product brands lack keywords, so this is not a big deal.
In any case, it will not be the world’s first 5G laptop as it runs on the Lenovo Flex 5G powered by the Sash Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c.
