Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father filed a police complaint against his girlfriend Ria Chakraborty, who is also an actress, more than a month after he was found dead in his Mumbai apartment.
The Sushant Singh Rajput family, who lives in Patna, accused her of inciting suicide, claiming that she had deceived him financially and mentally.
FIR also mentions six others, including his family members. A team of four Patna police has already left for Mumbai to investigate the case.
This is the first time that the family has made their allegations, and sources close to them say they have discussed whether they are awaiting a Mumbai police investigation.
Police said the 34-year-old actor died from suicide last month, sparking a major controversy over mental health.
Earlier this month, Ria Chakraborty called for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and described Federation Minister of Interior Amit Shah in a post on Instagram.
“I just wanted to understand what drove him to dive,” said Ms. Chakraborty, who revealed that she was receiving threats of rape and murder on social media because of the actor’s death.
In a long post before that, the 28-year-old actor talked about the bond that I shared with him and said: “I am still having trouble facing my feelings … irreparable numbness in my heart … you are the one who made me believe in love.”
Widely welcomed as a promising young actor, Sushant Singh Rajput is found dead in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14.
The Maharashtra state government has ordered an investigation into allegations of the professional competition alongside clinical depression.
About 40 people have recorded their statements so far in the case, including director and producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, director Aditya Chopra, director Mukesh Chapra, director Shekhar Kapoor, film critic Rajiv Masand, among others.
The actor’s death also caused waves in political circles with party leader Luke Janshakti, Shiraj Paswan, writing to Maharashtra Prime Minister Udhav Thakrai, saying: “On behalf of every Bihari, I urge you to conduct a fair investigation into this matter so that no one talented person is a future victim of partisanship and nepotism in Bollywood. “
On Monday, the son of Maharashtra’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ajit Pawar, Barth Pawar, wrote a letter to the state’s interior minister, calling for an investigation by the Central Bank of Iraq.
Sushant Singh Rajput first appeared in Bollywood in 2013 with “Kai Po Che”. He was appreciated for his performance in the 2015 movie, “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!” MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sonchiriya, and Chhichhore.
His death led to a flood of tribute and charges on social media involving the Indian film industry, which is fighting charges of favoritism and groups.
