Acer Swift 5 2019 laptop review

Acer has been building laptops for quite some time. They know what users want and are excellent for building devices that have the latest in an excellent outdoor container. The Acer Swift 5 2019 version came to us for review with the same lines. Let’s see how this machine works in our test bench.

Design and display of Acer Swift 5 2019

The company designed the Acer Swift 5 2019 very well. Weighing only 990 grams, this device is lightweight and easy to transport. The lightweight is appreciated since the interior contains powerful machines. It is a 14-inch device that has an IPS Full HD touch screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 86.4%. Yes, it is not as easy as some of its competitors, but it is the same. The brightness of the screen is 300 lumens, which means it is ideal for work and play. This is indicated by Acer.
The screen is not washed with direct light and does not reflect it either. We play FHD videos on it and never stutter. The HD webcam is also placed on the screen for video chat. The bottom has a backlit keyboard that is not very large but easy to operate. As it is a 14-inch machine, it does not have a very large touch panel, but it is not too small. The fingerprint sensor is also on the right side.

There are two magnifiers at the bottom of the capture below, and one can find the USB 3.1 and USB Type-C ports, as well as the 3.5mm audio and HDMI connectors on the left and right side of the device. The Acer sign can be used in bluish-black on the lid with the Swift 5 mark on the golden rear hinge. This hinge also raises the laptop a few degrees, which helps write ergonomics.

Acer Swift 5 performance

Let’s first shed some light on the technical specifications of Acer Swift 5 2019. This laptop comes with a tenth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of RAM. Everyone keeps the laptop open in the blink of an eye, even when Windows 10 consumes many resources to manipulate it. But it comes with Windows 10 Home and not with Windows 10 Pro since the integrated Intel Iris Plus G7 GPU gives you the perfect graphical performance for desktop use, as well as light work in Photoshop. If you are a video editor or work on Maya / 3D Max projects, you may need to look elsewhere.
The battery is not removable, but it is definitely one of its positive aspects. The company says it can last more than 12 hours. However, it did not last long hours. We managed to get 8 hours, which was still great. This was 60% screen brightness with Wi-Fi enabled at all times. When we talk about the device that comes with Wi-Fi 6 that works well with the latest routers and has no delay when playing a game like Counter-Strike or Dota 2. But yes, we lost a separate graphics card when playing it.

The sound could also have been better because the speaker set is almost adequate. You may need external speakers if you are watching software on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

All in all, the Acer Swift 5 2019 is a great looking machine. It is thin, light and with good battery life. The screen is good and you can work on it for a long time. However, it comes at a high price. One needs to spend a little more than one lakh per device. Compared to the competition, the rest offer similar specifications at a lower price with the discrete graphics card. But they have the Intel Intel 9th generation CPU, not the tenth.
