Sony launched the legendary Walkman brand for portable media players in 1979. While the Walkman eventually died after the smartphone, the Japanese brand has now revived its media player in a modern avatar. The new device is called the NW-105 Android Walkman and features a new design and new functions. Sony NW-105 Android Walkman Specifications and Features
The new Walkman features a 3.6-inch touchscreen display with HD resolution and narrow bezels. On the right side are physical buttons for music playback. The device is available in black only.
The NW-105 Walkman offers high-definition audio that is said to provide better sound than CD quality. The device supports DSD audio formats and FLAC playback with 11.2 MHz and high-quality PCM conversion. According to Sony, the Walkman also supports DSEE HX, which retrieves lost audio data during digital compression.
The Android Walkman NW-105 has 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card. The device is equipped with Google services so that users can store music on Google Drive and other cloud-based backup services. The latest Walkman runs Android 9 via Wi-Fi connectivity for all streaming apps and services. Users can connect wireless audio accessories via Bluetooth as well as NFC pairing. It also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Sony has not mentioned the new Walkman’s battery capacity, but the brand has promised 26 hours of usage and added a USB-C port to it.
Sony NW-105 Android Walkman Price in India
The Sony NW-105 Android Walkman is priced at Rs 23,990. It will be available from January 24 at all Sony centers, major electronics stores and e-commerce stores in India.
